Kaziranga Safari Tips: Jeep vs Elephant-Back

Kaziranga National Park offers both jeep safaris and, seasonally, elephant-back safaris across its grasslands and wetlands, home to the world's largest population of the one-horned rhinoceros.
Jeep safaris run in the Central, Western, Eastern and Burapahar ranges, each with a different landscape and wildlife profile — the Central Range is generally the most reliable for rhino sightings. Early morning safaris tend to offer the best light for photography and the highest chance of active wildlife before the day warms up.
The park is typically open from November to April; it closes during the monsoon months when the Brahmaputra floods much of the grassland habitat.
