Arunachal Pradesh

India's easternmost state — snow-capped Himalayan passes, remote monasteries and untouched valleys.

Arunachal Pradesh sits at the far eastern edge of the Himalayas, where high mountain passes open onto valleys inhabited by more than two dozen distinct indigenous communities. Buddhist monasteries, alpine lakes and some of India's least-visited trekking routes make it a destination for travellers seeking landscapes still largely untouched by mass tourism.

An Inner Line Permit (ILP) is required for Indian nationals; foreign nationals require a Protected Area Permit (PAP).
